"All Around Us" Vocals + Guitar Recording Done

Again, a bit late in posting, but I thought I’d share that last weekend I got to record the vocals and guitar for my latest track entitled “All Around Us.” My original plan was to do it all at home on my little notebook studio, but after a shaky trial recording the weekend prior, I realized that this song is much too important to cut corners on. Podcast alert: I’m officially an "All New Lady"

I realize that I’m a few days behind the curve in posting this, but just wanted to alert you all to the fact that my new track “I’ll Show You” has been featured in Anji Bee’s “Chillcast.” Anji is the vocalist for the soft pop/folk/smooth electronica group, Lovespirals. I’ve been recording and performing live on sax with this group on and off now for the past 9 or more years, so it’s so nice that our paths can connect in yet one more way through the magic of World Wide Online Internets. Track #2 in Progress: "All Around Us"

So yes, my second track as “Bloompocket” is well under way. Of course, if it were up to me, I’d be on my 12th track. You see, despite the power and prestige that come with uploading one track onto a MySpace Music profile, I still have this thing called the “day job” which definitely changes up the spare-time-to-noodle-in-the-studio factor. However, the upside is that because there is a limit to my time, the time spent composing and producing is incredibly inspired and focused. (more…)
Bloompocket’s Top 16 House Records EVER

Whenever one compiles a list of the “top” anything unbounded controversy is almost certain to ensue. However, with this list, the last thing I’m looking to do is to inspire debate. I realize that there may be many “house purists” who will disapprove of my exclusion of many of the classics from the early days of house music. However, this is a list of favorites from the perspective of a jazz musician-turned-house head, which, as I will be the first to tell you, is an unusual perspective at this stage in music history.
