Wow folks, after many long months of composing, producing, and composing, my new track “All Around Us” is officially available for sale as of May 18 at the following online retailers!
As I’ve mentioned before, this music really took a lot of blood and sweat to put together, but thankfully no tears. More than any music I’ve ever produced before, the music on this EP just seemed to flow out of me with very little strain, just a lot of “footwork” in getting everything together. In a nutshell, this process was a prototype for how I’d like music making to happen for me as I move forward. Releasing this track and all of the mixes has been a process of over a year in the making, so I really do hope that everyone of you enjoys it. Either way, I’d love to get as much feedback on this as possible, so please keep those emails and comments coming my way!

I know that I’ve been rattling and rattling on for some time about this new single of mine entitled “All Around Us,” but at long last, I can happily say that this puppy is “out the door in a paper bag” and ready to rock dancefloors

For those of you who have noticed me rattling on since this past April about a tune I’m working on by the name of “All Around Us,” you may be asking yourself, “what type of a whack-job spends 7 months on the same song and is STILL working on it?! Who does this guy think he
is -
Brian Wilson?!?

To be more precise, it’s actually a song I wrote with my
Monkey Bars partner in crime, Gabriel D Vine as well as Alex Lang, and was the reason we were offered a deal with
Subliminal Records in 2001.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I’ve done some research and put together a
discography of all the recordings I’ve appeared on either as a producer or as a sideman. Noticeably missing from the list at the time of this posting are any recordings made under the name “Bloompocket,” but of course,
that will be changing soon (you’ll be the first to know!).

In case any of you didn’t notice, I went ahead and rebuilt my entire site using the ubiquitous

Besides being infinitely more customizable when it comes to design and layout, this new website will make life much easier for me when it comes to creating an all-inclusive, community-based music site and blog utilizing all sorts of neat functionality which will greatly enhance everyone’s Bloompocket.com-surfing experience.

Whew! A month and a half ’s absence from my beloved little bloggie here, but there’s been a lot of change for the absolutely positive in my life going on lately, so the blog fell by the wayside for a moment.
So this is actually old news, but I did want to let everyone know that my first track as Bloompocket, called “
I’ll Show You” has been signed to a great label out of Milan called
Gotta Keep Faith Records! The track is slated to come out some time before 2009 with some remixes to boot. Not sure who’s going to be doing the remixes, but I’m sure that it’ll all be great.

me with Henry Mancini after winning the jazz instrumental category in the 1993 Music Center Spotlight Awards
So 2 weekends back I had a very inspiring experience that I wanted to share with everyone. As some of you may or may not know, I was a high school jazz band geek, spending every weeknight practicing sax, often spending my weekend nights doing the same, or better yet, jamming with fellow high school jazz band geeks (such as Gabriel D Vine, with whom I formed
Monkey Bars). Besides being in the band, I competed in tons of different music competitions, including one called the
Music Center Spotlight Awards. It’s a pretty prestigious competition and I actually ended up winning the jazz instrumental category my senior year back in 1993.
