All Around Us (featuring Daryl Darden)
Original music, lyrics, horn arrangements, and keyboards by Doron Orenstein, Vocals and Guitar by Daryl Darden, Electric Bass by Larry Steen, Trumpet by Charlie Peterson, Trombone by Duane Benjamin, Tenor Sax by Doron Orenstein, Additional Recording by Tony Shogren, Bloompocket’s Original Mix Mixed by Gil Tamazyan along with Doron Orenstein, All mixes mastered by Gil Tamazyan at Threshold Sound + Vision, Santa Monica, CA
The first release on my own label, “Bloompocket Jazz, ” this tune is a combination of sounds reminiscent of Earth, Wind, and Fire, George Benson, and the type of soulful house music you would hear on house music labels such as Soulfuric and Defected . Live vocals and guitar were provided by Los Angeles’ extraordinary jazz and R&B veteran, Daryl Darden . With velvety vocals reminiscent of Luther Vandross along with agile guitar-plus-voice unison improvisations and the chunkiest of porn-a-delic 70’s rhythm guitar riffs- lack of soul is simply not an issue with Mr. Darden. Additionally, some incredible remixes were delivered here as well by both Eric Davenport and Christian Alvarez , two incredible producers and DJs in their own right.
Bloompocket’s Original Mix (radio version): Former Subliminal Records artist and jazz saxophonist with a penchant for the 4-on-the-floor, Bloompocket gives us an Earth, Wind and Fire + George Benson + bangin’ soulful vocal house anthem with live horns, electric bass, wah-wah guitar, swirling keys and an unusually groovy boogaloo breakdown.
Eric Davenport’s Mississippi Mud Pie Remix (radio version): A true virtuoso behind the decks and the veteran dancefloor hitmaker at the helm of Geisha House Music, Davenport provides the funky, jazzy, jackin’, quirky, catchy, sing-songy, Chicago sweatbox-style sounds.
Christian Alvarez’s Delectofied Deep Mix (radio version): The head of world-renown house imprint Delecto Recordings and a masterful producer holding his own with the heaviest of the heavyweights, Alvarez’s mix brings sparser vocals atop a smooth-but-poppin’, silky, eyebrow-crinkling, elegant, and dubby west coast vibe.

I’ll Show You
Produced, composed, performed, and mixed by Bloompocket
Additional mixing by Gabriel D Vine
This was the very first track I produced upon re-entering the world of house music production. Truth be told, I started this track as nothing more than as an exercise to learn how to operate my new "recording facility ." For this track, I really wanted to feature some some smooth jazz/R&B-style chord changes along with some 80’s-era muted guitar playing in unison with the bass. The lead synth lines you’ll hear were inspired by the jazz of the 1980’s (think Pat Metheny and Steps Ahead ). In keeping with the tradition of classic house music, this tune seeks nothing more than to drill in a few mantras of faith and inspiration. In fact, if you were to listen to these lyrics, simple and repetitive as they are, and turn those words into an approach to all of life , I guarantee that your entire existence would be revolutionized within a relatively short span of time. The track was signed for release by Milan’s Gotta Keep Faith records and is slated for release in early 2009.
